Fall In Love With The Process

Who are you? text vertically along a photo of a woman standing on a beach looking skywards with the text journaling prompts for uncovering who you are below

The path to loving your life and living your dreams isn’t paved by…

Setting your intention.

White knuckling your grip on the outcome.

Working your ass off while hating every step of the way.

And yet…

how many times do we do that?

We fail to consider that it’s not the achieving that gets our precious time but the process. And we fail to ask a critically important question…

Is how I’m spending my time bringing love and joy into my life?

If you really want to love your life and live your dreams, then you don’t want to hate every minute of it. Instead, try it this way…

Set your intention.
Release the outcome.
And fall in love with the process.

Have you ever found yourself holding onto a goal so tightly, that rather than seeing the progress you’ve made, all you can feel is frustration because you don’t have it yet?

We do this.

We grip, we cling, we obsess over the goal and being “there”.

By gripping and clinging and obsessing, we push away what we want. Often this becomes painfully clear when we look back at the experience, yet when we’re in it, we miss it—we’re too caught up in the pushing, forcing, and striving.

The irony is that it’s not the goal that changes us or transforms our lives, but rather the process of achieving the goal.

It’s the process that matters.

The daily actions.

The faith and trust required to listen to and follow the guidance of our Most Abundant Self.

It’s who the goal has us become that matters.

My first coach many years ago now had a saying that she often reminded me of…

High involvement. Low attachment.

High involvement.
Low attachment.

NOT

High attachment.
Low involvement.

Which is precisely what we can all too easily find ourselves doing. Being so caught up in the outcome that we miss out on being present in the day-to-day to get there.

I see this All. The. Time. with clients who are totally and completely obsessed with making a specific amount of money or enrolling x number of clients or forcing a relationship to be a certain way or hitting a goal weight.

You want to be obsessed with your dreams and desires, absolutely you do. You want to keep your focus on your desires no matter what’s happening around you.

BUT…

You don’t want to hang onto them so tightly that you snuff out the possibility of their fulfillment.

You have to let go of the outcome—surrender it and have trust in your ability to co-create it, or something better, with the Universe.

Set the intention for the outcome.

Know that it is already done.

Follow the divine guidance you receive.

Bring love to each and every step of the process.

Practice the principle of high involvement, low attachment.

And always remember, you absolutely can Love Your Life and Live Your Dreams. It all begins within.
