Remember, you are under NO obligation to believe the thoughts you think.

You have thoughts.

BUT

You don’t have to believe your thoughts.

Further,

you have thoughts.

BUT

You are not your thoughts.

If your thoughts are making you feel like crap about yourself then you can pick new ones.

If you find yourself feeling discouraged before you even start then look at the thoughts your thinking. Toss out the ones that are disempowering and pick new ones.

Your thoughts are not fact.

There is no law saying you must obey them.

If they aren’t helping you achieve your goals…choose better ones.

If they leave you feeling like a failure…pick new ones that help you feel like the success you are.

This isn’t a one-and-done exercise. It’s an ongoing, never-ending process (at least if you’re committed to loving your life and living your dreams).

Just last week, I found myself skipping out on sending a couple of emails because my thoughts were telling me, “it’s too late to send it now,” “there’s no point sending an email at this time of day.”

And the stupid thing is…

I fell for it!

I believed those thoughts even though I know I don’t have to believe the things my mind tells me.

Today, I almost fell for it again, but I caught myself when they started up and asked myself…

Is that thought true?

Is it true that it’s “too late” to send an email now? NO! I have received at least one email every single hour for the past 24 hours, so no time of day is “too late.”

Is it true that there’s no point sending an email at this time of day (whatever that actually means!)? NO! It’ll still be in your inbox whenever you check it, so it doesn’t really matter when I send it.

Then after showing myself that the old thoughts were bullshit, I picked a new one “it’s always the perfect time to send an email, and I know, trust and believe that everyone who needs the message it contains will receive it.”

Isn’t that more helpful?

You can change your experience of life simply by changing the thoughts you focus on.

What thoughts are you thinking that are keeping you from taking the actions you know you need to take and the actions you actually WANT to take?

Write them down.

Then ask

Is this thought true?

(The only thing that makes a thought true is your decision to make it so.)

Prove to yourself that it’s not true.

And then…

Pick a new thought that SUPPORTS and EMPOWERS you to take action to create the life you want.

Then take action.

The next time a disempowering, confidence-crushing thought comes up (because it WILL happen again) go through this process again.

And again the next time.

Then again.

Because—it is a process.

Remember, you absolutely can Love Your Life and Live Your Dreams. It all begins within.
