Who are you living for?

I think most of us assume the answer is ‘Me’. We want to believe that we are living for ourselves, but are we?

Are you fully living for yourself?

Do you say yes when you really want to say no?

Do you deny your desires to appease others?

Do you settle for what someone else wants to do?

There are definitely times when I do all of the above. Where I ignore what I really want to keep someone else happy. When I go along with what someone else wants to do instead of speaking up.

The problem with each of these is that they put someone’s desires over your own. They put someone else’s happiness over yours.

But no one’s happiness is worth more than anyone else’s.

Your desires aren’t worth more or less than anyone else’s desires.

We are ALL meant to be, do, and have everything we desire.

We are all meant to live our lives fully.

You living your dreams doesn’t take away from anyone else. It’s not selfish for you to have what you want.

In fact, the opposite is true.

Think about those who inspire you, whose lives ignite your courage to pursue your dreams.

Imagine if they gave in to what everyone else desires and ignored their own. Imagine if they settled and didn’t pursue their dreams.

Who would inspire you then?

Whose greatness would remind you of your own?

Now, what about you…

By failing to live fully for yourself who are you failing to inspire?

Whose dreams aren’t being ignited because you’re failing to live yours?

Who isn’t seeing their own greatness reflected back to them through your actions?

You living your dreams isn’t selfish. You NOT living your dreams is selfish.

In the words of Marianne Williamson

“Your playing small does not serve the world.

There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other

people won’t feel insecure around you.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.

It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.”

Remember, you absolutely can Love Your Life and Live Your Dreams. It all begins within.
