Your feelings—the “good” ones and the “bad” ones—are your choice.
You get to choose how you feel.
When someone cuts you off in traffic you can choose to get angry. Or not.
When something you thought was going to work flops you get to choose to fall into a woo-is-me state of disappointment and frustration. Or not.
When things don’t go your way, you can get irritated. Or not.
When someone disagrees with you, you can choose to feel hurt and offended. Or not.
How you feel is your choice.
Even though it’s often sold as the ideal, we don’t want to be happy all the time.
If we only felt happiness then we’d have to be happy when tragic events and sad things happen. And that’s not what you want, is it?
I didn’t think so.
Really what we want is to feel the FULL range of human emotion. We want the full human emotional experience.
We want to feel…
Excitement.
Passion.
Love.
Peace.
Anger.
Sadness.
Frustration.
Boredom.
Interest.
Curiosity.
Courage.
Connection.
Fear.
Hope.
We want it all.
To live fully requires we feel it all.
And if we’re honest with ourselves, that’s what we want—to feel fully and completely alive. To experience everything life has to offer.
What we don’t want is to get trapped in feelings of anger, frustration, irritation, sadness, loneliness.
We want to feel these emotions and to allow them to move through us.
Then we want to get back to feeling good.
And the good news is you can do this. It’s a choice—your choice.
Remember, you absolutely can Love Your Life and Live Your Dreams. It all begins within.
